Where and How to Market Rental Properties in Los Gatos

System - Tuesday, October 21, 2014
There are a number of things that go into creating a well-advertised rental property.

  1. Ad Structure – There are two main things you need to consider when writing an ad. You must make sure to reflect your property accurately without exaggerating or leaving anything out. Also make sure to leave your contact information visible to make it easy for interested parties to contact you.
  2. Ad Placement – Once you have taken the time to write an appealing ad, you’ll want to put it out where most people are looking for rental ads. Millions of people look online for rental homes so it is a good place to start by advertising on multiple online locations/
  3. Marketing at the Property – It is important to have good signage at your property. It can be as simple as a “For Rent” sign in the front yard. Make sure your property is clean and ready to show before you start advertising, because some will want to see it right away!
  4. Pool of Renters – At DWM Properties we are lucky to have great partners in relocation and multiple businesses that supply well-qualified tenants. We always have other properties to offer if this one is not the best fit for a specific tenant.

Yes, technically it’s still the beginning of Fall, but it is never to early to start preparing for winter. While we are still experience 90 degree weather in the bay area, it is never too early to start preparing your homes for cooler temperatures. Getting a jump on seasonal preparations will also reduce the likelihood of being caught unprepared by an early winter storm.

  1. Adjust your sprinklers
  2. Check heaters and fireplaces
  3. Check windows for cracks and check roof for leaks
  4. **Your Property Manager should be scheduling annual roof and gutter cleaning inspections in the next few months

    Did You Know?

    System - Sunday, October 5, 2014

*As a tenant you have the right to an initial inspection*

We recommend that all of our tenants take advantage of this because it can end up saving you money! The initial inspection allows the property manager to walk through the property with you prior to your move out and point out items that are damaged beyond normal wear and tear, giving you as a tenant the opportunity to fix it with a vendor of your choice so you are not charged out of your security deposit.
